About us

Daybreak Oneness Ministries is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping those that are interested in learning about the Dharma, Buddhist practice and the path to end suffering. The core of our approach is "The Way of Oneness." This is one of the most basic Buddhist principles and pervades all Buddhist thought. Rooted in the original teachings of Gautama Buddha, our presentation of the Way of Oneness has its origins in the Japanese Mahayana tradition - however, our open, eclectic approach concentrates on individual spiritual growth rather than on any particular sectarian dogma.  Our goal is to help all those who are interested, regardless of their personal background or previous experience.

Diversity & Inclusion

We at Daybreak celebrate & honor you for who you are!

We recognize, affirm, and accept diversity in all of its manifestations and believe that the Dharma is open to ALL.

Regardless of race, nationality, class, gender, sexual identity, physical ability, or prior/current spiritual tradition . . . you are welcome here at Daybreak.

Rather than a passive acceptance, practicing inclusivity and welcoming diversity of all beings is at the core of Buddhist practice. Sharing the Dharma and freeing our hearts and minds of bias serves as a path to alleviating the suffering of others.

As the Venerable Rev. Gyomay Kubose states, “Oneness does not mean that all become one and the same. The recognition of difference is oneness. One is many and many in one. Equality means difference and difference is equality. Everyone is unique in themselves, and this uniqueness makes the world interesting. In being unique, there is untold respect for others’ uniqueness.”

Indigenous and Enslaved Peoples Acknowledgement

Daybreak Oneness invites you to recognize the history of the land our Ministry is incorporated on, as well as the history of the land you occupy as a member or guest.

Daybreak Oneness is incorporated in Apex, North Carolina on the ancestral homeland of the Tuscarora Tribe.  We recognize the sacred and enduring relationship between Indigenous peoples to their ancestral territory.  With this acknowledgement, we actively seek to recognize, respect, and partner with the Indigenous communities whose colonized land and water we benefit from today.

We recognize the participation of North Carolina in the horrific practice of Slavery in the United States and honor the enslaved people whose labor produced the wealth and prosperity of not only this State, but our Nation.

Let us own the histories of North Carolina and the United States as complicit in building and fortifying the systems of white supremacy that continue to perpetuate harm against communities of color and other minoritized groups today.

Daybreak Oneness Ministries is committed to dismantling racism and all systems of oppression through the work we do and in our daily lives
